Day 8

Well what do you think of the Simply Scripture method?  How do you like it compared to the Psalms method?  I just cringe when I pull apart Genesis 3.  What life could have been had Eve and Adam not been deceived.  Oh but I realize it is all part of God's plan for redemption right down to the first animal sacrifice we see in order for Adam and Eve to have animal skins to cover them.   I love to read God's Word and discover His perfect plan from the beginning of time.

  1. I am enjoying the Simply Scripture method. I like to highlight words or verses that speak to me. It is a good tool when I go back to study it again. The next time I read it something else may speak to me. It allows me to dig deeper into each verse and dissect meaning I may not have gleaned from it before.

I prefer this method over the Psalms method, but both are beneficial and I find myself journaling more now that I started this challenge. I am craving God's word and spending more time resting in Him.

  2. This is my favorite method for personal devotion times. I've been trying this past year to listen better to the Holy Spirit through Scripture and this method lends itself well to that. I love journaling but I've also added sketching to my devotional times. I like to sketch the truths God is teaching me through illustration.
